PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This corporate campus spans two sides of Oberlin Drive in San Diego’s tech center, Sorrento Valley. The site sits adjacent to Penasquitos Creek and within close proximity to the Los Penasquitos Lagoon and Torrey Pines State Beach. Therefore the design’s direction was to blend with and celebrate these surroundings. Original to the site was a series of earth berms covered with non-native turf grass and Magnolia trees. The berms were converted to dunes with native dune grasses and ground covers. The trees were replaced with a native California species and newly formed amenity spaces paid homage to the beach side campgrounds including campfire areas, charcoal grills, and picnic table lunch areas.
