Haya Abboodi
Student Intern
For as long as she can remember, Haya has been determined to become a designer. The design world was by far the most interesting universe. Through her travels and her upbringing in Kuwait, she learned to appreciate the details and the powerful narratives all designs exude. She believes in creating an impact through design, preserving culture within communities, and healing through nature.
Haya received her bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, Magna Cum Laude, from Cal Poly Pomona in 2023 and is pursuing a master’s degree in architecture at the NewSchool of Architecture & Design in San Diego with a minor in urban design and development. During her undergrad, she was a landscape architecture mentor, student project designer, and studio Teaching Assistant. Since receiving her degree, Haya interned at another firm doing work varying from design to administration. As a design intern at McCullough, Haya plans to improve her skills as a designer and build a professional career that will prepare her for her license.
A little-known fact about Haya is that her passion for landscape/architecture came from Ted Mosby, one of the main characters from the sitcom “How I Met Your Mother.”
