PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

John and Marsha Murphy purchased this aging and struggling hotel in conjunction with Assets Resolution Corp. in the heart of downtown Coronado. Blocks from the well-known Hotel Del Coronado, the concept was to turn this hotel site into one of the only boutique hotels in Coronado. McCullough was brought in to design the grounds and help turn the property into a destination location on the island. The property included a garage lot previously housing the hotel manager and a very rangy, unkept series of gardens. McCullough converted these into formal garden spaces meant for social interaction, events, and casual R&R. A water feature, privacy hedges, fire feature, garden house are all part of the experience.
