PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Mt. SAC Library replacement building project stands as a testament to innovative design in challenging environments. With a focus on landscape integration and connectivity, our team has meticulously crafted a site that seamlessly blends dramatic topography with functional spaces, prioritizing accessibility and safety. By reimagining the connection between the lower parking area and the elevated building, we’ve created a distinctive landscape that enhances the campus experience, offering students a grand sense of arrival and fostering social engagement.
Central to our design is the activation of pedestrian realms, including the integration of active corners such as the “artist corner,” providing opportunities for interaction and enjoyment. This project reflects our commitment to sustainability, student engagement, and thoughtful campus planning, embodying the values deeply held by the collaborative efforts of HPI Architecture and McCullough Landscape Architecture. As we navigate from concept to reality, we embrace the challenges and breakthroughs that lie ahead, eager to witness the success of this transformative endeavor.
