Plaza lindo paseo

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Located on the south central edge of San Diego State University, Plaza Lindo Paseo is a mixed-use student housing development with a retail/restaurant component. The development also includes amenities for fraternity housing, a central plaza, and BBQ and picnic gathering areas.

McCullough was responsible for conceptual planning, design development, construction documents, and administration oversight for the development. Principal David McCullough had foresight into the trend of “city villages” where community interaction is the central focus of design, which he addressed by providing a smart growth format that encourages pedestrian traffic and discourages the need to travel by automobile.

We were able to meet the needs of the client’s fixed budget program requirements using creative design concepts while maintaining cost control. One way that we achieved that was to use clean and simple materials that were cost effective yet elegant and sophisticated in appearance.
