Topaz Mixed-Use Student Housing Wins National Recognition

We’re proud to share that Topaz Mixed-Use Student Housing has been recognized with “Best Implementation of Mixed-Use” at the Student Housing Business Awards in Austin.

The Student Housing Business Awards are annual honors recognizing excellence and innovation across the U.S. student housing industry. Presented by Student Housing Business Magazine and the InterFace Conference Group, the awards celebrate standout properties, companies, and professionals shaping the sector’s growth and standards.

Located near San Diego State University, the project transforms a former drive-thru and strip center into a vibrant, walkable environment designed to support student life. By blending housing with convenient access to daily essentials, Topaz reflects a growing shift toward mixed-use student housing that prioritizes connection, flexibility, and ease of living. This award highlights the value of rethinking underutilized sites and reimagining them as active, community-centered destinations.
